030 inches.ġ) I believe the mixture screws are at about 3 1/2 turns out and I am thinking about resetting them in some but how much? The books shows for the 650E a setting of 2 1/4 but a member previously suggested 3 1/2 worked well for him. The current plugs are NGK "BP7ES" with a gap of. The plugs are black and after cleaning will run rough with choke and then the left side will foul up and stop firing. Subsequently it started running very rich. I rode it some months ago and had to run it on prime and It ran pretty good. I have now determined that they are Mikuni BS 34 carbs via Mikes XS pics. The manual says that the pilot screws are preset but these are open and accessible for adjustment. It also has on the side panels "Special II" and the carburetors despite what the manual says have pilot screws/idle mixture screws on the front/top/middle of the carburetor. I have a 1981 XS650H vin beginning with "4N9".
